- ➤ Trader Joe's is opening its first Space Coast store today at Avenue Viera in Brevard County with doors opening at 9 a.m.—the store launched ahead of its March schedule thanks to efficient construction and hiring. Community members have long awaited the arrival and are expected to line up for crowd-controlled entry with 100 red shopping carts and specialty bag giveaways provided throughout the day. - ➤ On Dec 2, Port Canaveral became the world's busiest cruise port by serving over 8.6 million passengers—a 13.3% rise from 7.9 million last year and the second time it surpassed PortMiami since the end of the pandemic. Orders must be paid by February 5, 2026 and pickup is at Melbourne Beach Meeting Hall on February 14, 2026 from 8 to 11 a.m. — early ordering is encouraged — as these native plants help build dunes and protect the coast. - ➤ The Brevard County Commission and Save Our Indian River Lagoon supporters criticized Blue Origin’s draft permit that would allow its Rocket Park facility to discharge industrial wastewater into a stormwater pond that flows into the lagoon.
