- ➤ Melbourne City Council censured former councilwoman Yvonne Minus on Nov. 25 for allegedly threatening Vice Mayor David Neuman during a heated meeting on Sep. 24—police reported the threat and the State Attorney’s Office declined to prosecute amid public calls for accountability. FOX 35 Orlando

- ➤ Tropical Wonderland was a theme park in Titusville that opened as Florida Wonderland in 1959 and featured an Old West town, live animal exhibits, and a popular Monkey Island with free-roaming primates. Johnny Weissmuller endorsed the park in 1971 before it closed by 1973 as nature reclaimed the grounds. Space Coast Daily
- ➤ Photographer Tim Shortt captured a striking photo of a lion in a glow-in-the-dark mural at Brevard Zoo that earned Photo of the Week honors. The Lights On: A Nighttime Art Experience exhibit runs until Jan. 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and offers illuminated paintings and virtual reality stations — tickets cost $45 to $55 per person.
