- ➤ Merritt Island resident Justin Bogart—board member at the Central Brevard Sharing Center—started The Good Shepherd BBQ to help feed local families, serving food to 150 kids and planning to distribute smoked pork through a food pantry before Thanksgiving. He raised funds via a GoFundMe campaign to buy a large smoker and hopes to expand his ministry with continued community donations. Florida Today
- ➤ Orlando Berdecia, a retired officer from Puerto Rico, joined Palm Bay VCOP in August 2024 where he patrols neighborhoods, supports traffic and emergency calls, and helps with fleet maintenance—continuing his lifelong commitment to community service. - ➤ Disney entertainment mentors will guide Endeavour Elementary School students as they put on their first production of 101 Dalmatians — part of the Discover Your Destiny program — which is designed to spark creativity in young performers.
