  • Residents will enjoy a week of Halloween festivities in Brevard from Oct. 24—31 with options like family trick-or-treating in downtown Melbourne, pet costume contests in Cocoa Village, haunted houses at Florida Tech, drive-in movies at Wickham Park, and a Halloween night market in Palm Bay.  Florida Today
  • The Haunted Jail Trail, presented by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, will take place Oct 24-25 to raise funds for first responders with admission at $20 per person — food trucks will be available in the parking lot.  Space Coast Daily

  • The AAA forecast predicts a record 21.7 million Americans will take ocean cruises in 2026 — with Florida ports Miami, Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale leading the way at 10.2%, 8.8% and 5.6% respectively — as older travelers make up 65% of cruisers. The report shows a growing trend that will boost Florida’s cruise industry next year.  Florida Today

  • A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch the SpainSat NG-II mission tomorrow at 9:30 p.m. from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station—it will send two satellites to support European military communications on a due-east path, with backup launch times available until 1:30 a.m.  Florida Today
  • After heavy rains in October, North Brevard residents have seen yards flooded and are asking county officials for fixes. County Commissioner Katie Delaney said engineers will study drainage issues before approving any new development—residents worry that unchecked growth may worsen the flooding.  FOX 35 Orlando

HEALTH NEWS

  • A woman who faced weeks of severe illness and a life-threatening condition received a liver transplant after months of struggling with the flu, and her life was saved by an organ donated by Aimee—who chose to donate her organs following a major stroke that left her in locked-in syndrome.
