- ➤ The FHSAA expanded its football postseason with a new Florida Invitational Tournament called FIT for the 16 teams that narrowly missed the traditional 32 team playoffs. The tournament divides teams into three brackets and will begin regional play on November 13, with championships held at Villages Charter School on December 5 and 6. Florida Today
- ➤ During the week of Sept. 29 to Oct. 3, Brevard County high school sports featured boys and girls golf and a volleyball match. West Shore recorded a 158 in boys golf compared to Melbourne Central Catholic's 202, Viera scored 151 while Vero Beach had 165 in girls golf, and Cocoa Beach won the volleyball contest with set scores of 25-10, 27-25 and 25-12.
