  • The ULA Atlas V rocket launched Amazon’s Kuiper 3 mission on Sept. 25 at 8:09 a.m. EDT from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station+ sending operational satellites into low Earth orbit.   • Aldi will brand its private label items as ALDI Original as it expands in Florida by converting former Winn-Dixie stores into new sites, with a Milton store scheduled to open Oct. 2 and Jacksonville and New Port Richey sites set to open on Oct. 9. The discount chain plans over 20 new stores in 2025—offering Palm Bay shoppers more chances to enjoy its low prices and simple shopping experience.  Florida Today

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Officials in Brevard County are reevaluating mangrove restrictions as new research shows rising water temperatures and sea levels are expanding these habitats that protect the Indian River Lagoon. Local leaders may update the Mangrove Trimming and Preservation Act—first enacted in 1996—to balance shoreline protection with efforts to reduce stormwater pollution.  Space Coast Daily
  • Invest 94L southeast of Florida in the Caribbean is expected to turn into a tropical depression later today—if it strengthens, it will be named Tropical Storm Imelda and may bring heavy rain, strong winds and storm surge along parts of the southeast U.S. coast early next week.   • Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said 150 people from Palm Bay to Titusville were deported from the county this week as part of a state—and federal government—and wide push for immigration enforcement.  FOX 35 Orlando
