  • Trader Joe's will open two new Florida stores: one is in Daytona Beach at 1511 Cornerstone Blvd and one is in Melbourne at 2221 Town Center Ave — this expansion will bring the total number of Florida locations to 27.  Florida Today

  • Brevard restaurant owners face higher food and labor costs that force them to raise prices, and customers dine out less as they choose cheaper meals+ some are now offering special deals and simpler menus to keep their seats filled. With a higher minimum wage for tipped workers coming soon+ managers say they are planning new strategies to keep prices competitive.  Florida Today
  • Egg prices dropped 70% from their March high to $2.50 per dozen as USDA measures and increased imports boosted supply in the market. Experts warn that prices might rise again if wild bird migration sparks another outbreak & shoppers in Palm Bay can enjoy lower costs for now.  Florida Today

  • Today, Florida observes Patriot Day as Gov. Ron DeSantis orders state and local flags to be flown at half-staff to honor nearly 3,000 victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.   • Three Brevard County high school teams begin district play in Week 4 as Palm Bay travels to Merritt Island and Rockledge goes to Daytona for District 8—3A and District 6—4A contests. Eight local games are scheduled this week and two crossover contests will see SSAA teams like Satellite face FHSAA teams such as Space Coast.  Florida Today
