  • Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Florida is ranked number one in Education Freedom for the fourth year by the Heritage Foundation—this ranking reflects the state’s strong support for school choice and parental rights.   • Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced a new tax holiday for guns and outdoor gear that began on Sept. 8 and is in effect until Dec. 31. Shoppers can buy tax-free items like firearms, ammo and camping supplies—and also get half-price range passes and a discounted sportsman license to save money.  Florida Today

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Data from rental marketplace Zumper shows Brevard apartment prices dropped 4% from last year's $2,920 median to $2,800 in August — one-bedroom prices decreased slightly while two-bedroom rates stayed unchanged.  Florida Today
