  • Brevard County Sheriff’s Agents responded to a burglary on August 31 that shattered a business window and stole a cash register—quickly identifying Patrick King, who is linked to 13 additional burglaries and now faces multiple charges with a no-bond warrant at Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge.  Space Coast Daily

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The 230+ pound loggerhead turtle named June Cleaver was found in distress trying to lay eggs earlier this summer and was cared for at the Brevard Zoo Sea Turtle Healing Center before laying 113 eggs and being released Sept. 3 at Howard Futch Memorial Park in Melbourne—biologists collected the eggs for incubation.  Florida Today

  • Brevard Zoo euthanized 23-year-old giraffe Milenna due to worsening mobility issues; she served as the beloved matriarch of the herd + is remembered for her spunk.  Florida Today
