- ➤ Don Omar hosted a meet-and-greet at Advance Auto Parts on Bayside Lakes Boulevard today where about 150 fans celebrated his blend of music and car culture—his new company Street Legal launched The Ultimate Wet Tire Shine and he said he will work with Orlando Speed World to build a safe space for car and music fans. - ➤ Retirees in Brevard County can use their library card to access LinkedIn Learning—an online portal with over 16,000 courses in subjects from project management to art that helps them learn new skills and stay engaged online. Hometown News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Mayor Rob Medina honored Sgt. Frank Tobar on August 20 by unveiling a commemorative plaque at Sacrifice Park to mark the fourth anniversary of his death. He also announced that the city will hold a Patriot Day Ceremony on September 11 at Sacrifice Park and the 28th Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival on October 4 at Eastern Florida State College’s Palm Bay Campus. - ➤ Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center will host several rocket launches in the coming weeks; SpaceX will launch Starlink missions on September 3 and 4 while NASA and partners plan a resupply flight on September 15 and other missions later in the month—coverage details will be updated live.
