  • Palm Bay will host the fair at Space Coast Harley-Davidson Fairgrounds from October 17 to 26 with up to 20 rides, games, fair foods and attractions like a haunted petting zoo, two haunted houses and a Halloween parade — visitors also can enjoy a foam party, hay rides, stilt walkers and unlimited ride armbands while admission rates vary for children, seniors and U.S. veterans.  Space Coast Daily

CRIME NEWS

  • Palm Bay Police responded August 22 to a report from a residence—about a Southwest Middle School student who created a list of peers to harm—and suspended the suspect, who will be charged with Written Threats to do Harm.  Space Coast Daily

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Brevard Public Schools has begun testing AI-powered cameras on roughly 400 school buses to catch drivers who illegally pass stopped buses, and a $225 ticket will be issued after a deputy reviews each case. The program works with Bus Patrol America and the sheriff’s office and will fully enforce fines after Sept. 17 — during a warning period.  FOX 35 Orlando

  • Brevard County Government and community partners, led by the Housing and Human Services Department, launched the Space for Recovery opioid awareness campaign today at the Viera Government Complex on Fentanyl Awareness Day. Local organizations can apply for funding to help fight opioid addiction.  Space Coast Daily
  • Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier argued on Aug. 21 that trade groups like NetChoice lack standing to sue over a law that would restrict minors' social media access— a judge had temporarily blocked the law that would have required parental permission for 14- and 15-year-olds.  Florida Today

  • Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team posted its second straight shutout when it beat Calhoun Community College 8-0 on Sunday afternoon in Tennessee and improved its season record to 2-0 with eight players scoring.  Space Coast Daily
