  • Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey provided an early Friday update on the search for missing 18-year-old Giovanni Pelletier—whose family offered a $25,000 reward for tips—with his agency's involvement remaining limited.  FOX 35 Orlando

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • NOAA updated its forecast on August 7 to predict an above-normal hurricane season with 13 to 18 named storms, 5 to 9 hurricanes and 2 to 5 major storms—numbers that are slightly lower than May’s prediction—and advised Florida residents to prepare for the busy months ahead.  Florida Today
