  • Eighteen-year-old Giovanni Pelletier went missing after leaving Englewood on August 1 to visit family in Brevard County—his cellphone and backpack were later found near Bradenton as over 20 family and friends joined a search along a wooded road in Mims while Charlotte and Brevard County investigators work on the case.  Florida Today

  • Built in 1959 as Florida Wonderland, Tropical Wonderland in Titusville was renamed in 1971 after Tarzan actor Johnny Weissmuller endorsed it—bringing more visitors to the park. It offered an Old West village, train and boat rides, and a spot called Monkey Island but lost support over animal treatment concerns—leading to its closure in 1973.  Space Coast Daily
