  • A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 5:01 a.m. today carrying 28 Starlink satellites that brightened the predawn sky—spectators witnessed a brief jellyfish effect as the sun began to rise. Another Falcon 9 is scheduled to lift off no earlier than 11:30 p.m. July 29—carrying additional Starlink satellites.  Florida Today
  • SpaceX will launch its Falcon 9 rocket today at 4:34 a.m. ET from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station to send 28 Starlink satellites into space—this mission marks the booster’s 22nd flight and it will land on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean.  Space Coast Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Brevard County officials report that Tourist Development Tax collections are tracking 3.9% ahead of last year's figure at $18.13 million with four months remaining and, if current trends hold, the fiscal year will end at a record $25.94 million—a projection driven by increased hotel inventory and favorable rate forecasts. Forecasts also indicate modest changes in occupancy and daily rates that may further boost tourism revenue.  Space Coast Daily

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The June housing update shows the single-family market is strong with a 5.7% rise in sales, 958 closings, a median price of $389,950, and a 14.4% increase in cash sales, with inventory rising to 4.6 months. In contrast, the condo and townhouse market dropped 14.5% in sales and 13.6% in median prices to $285,000—giving buyers improved negotiating power with inventory now at 8.8 months.  Space Coast Daily

  • The 10th annual USSSA Fastpitch All-American Games will take place from July 28 to August 2 at the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Viera—featuring about 1,200 top youth softball players selected from over 2,000 tryouts in 24 cities. The event will offer an Opening Ceremony, Skills Competition, a Birthday Party-themed Parade of Champions on July 28, and other tournaments and clinics.  Space Coast Daily
