  • Emergency responders arrived at the intersection of South Miramar Avenue and 14th Avenue in Indialantic at 7:53 a.m. on Wednesday—when a vehicle struck a pedestrian—and temporarily restricted traffic as investigators examined the scene.  Space Coast Daily

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Keep Brevard Beautiful will host its final Summer Series cleanup at Haulover Canal in Titusville on July 26 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Volunteers will gather at the Haulover Canal Kayak Launch in Mims where both kayak and land cleanup options will be available and an afterparty will follow at Playalinda Brewing Company's Brix Project.  Space Coast Daily
  • The National Hurricane Center and FOX 35 Storm Team are tracking Invest 93L—a low pressure area over the northern Gulf that has a 30% chance to form a tropical depression and could swing back through Florida to bring heavy rain and flooding to Louisiana and Mississippi. Forecast models show that if the system loops back, it will bring more rain to Central Florida early next week.  FOX 35 Orlando

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • ULA is set to launch the USSF-106 national security mission from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station’s Launch Complex—details of the launch date and payload are not yet disclosed. This mission follows the rocket’s certification flight in October 2024 and will use the Centaur V upper stage to reach geosynchronous orbit.  Florida Today
  • Palm Bay Police asked for an extra $6,000 at Thursday night’s City Council meeting to cover the extra work from more people contesting $100 school zone speeding tickets—even though over $300,000 has already been collected. The added funds would pay for scheduling hearings and recordkeeping (if approved) while the future of the camera program remains uncertain.  FOX 35 Orlando
