ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A man in his 50s died after his pickup truck flipped into a canal near Palm Bay City Hall on July 13 at 2:30 p.m. (the crash occurred at the intersection of Malabar Road and Babcock Street) and police are investigating the cause.  Florida Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The city of Palm Bay began construction on a safety fence around the new inclusive playground at Fred Poppe Regional Park on July 9—All-Rite Fence Services is building the fence to protect children from nearby ponds.  Florida Today
  • The City of Palm Bay Public Works Department announced temporary road and lane closures as contractors from Florida Power & Light and a paving unit work on utility construction and paving projects. Gerona Street SE is closed with a detour from July 10 until July 17, Paigo Street SE is closed from July 8 until July 15, and Community College Parkway is closed daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.—motorists are advised to use alternate routes.  Space Coast Daily
