  • The Palm Bay Recreation Department will launch Waves of Support, an adaptive swim program for children ages 2-12 at the Palm Bay Aquatic Center beginning June 9. The program offers one-on-one water instruction on Mondays + Wednesdays through late July and costs $200 for six sessions with parents or caregivers joining in the water.  Space Coast Daily

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Two people and a dog were rescued from a small twin-engine Piper plane that crash landed off Melbourne Beach in the Indian River on June 4 at about 1:50 p.m.—rescuers reported no injuries and the FAA will investigate the cause.  Florida Today
  • Two construction workers died after a crane collapsed at a job site on Borman Drive — Merritt Island, with authorities saying both were taken to a nearby hospital on Wednesday and later died of their injuries.  Space Coast Daily

  • Jeff Abramowski has spent 23 years fighting to clear his name after his murder conviction was vacated using new DNA evidence — state Attorney Will Scheiner said he set a trial date for July 7 while the case review continues.  Florida Today
