  • Dancing for the Space Coast will take place on May 31 at Florida Tech’s Clemente Center at 5:30 p.m. as dancers rehearse final routines with instructors to support local charities. Brevard Fire Rescue’s Gabriel Etienne—one of the event’s featured celebrity dancers—will compete for top scores in a choreographed ballroom dance.  Space Coast Daily

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On May 26 at 12:25 p.m. a crash on southbound I-95 north of the Pineda Causeway—mile marker 188 killed a woman and injured three children who were taken to hospitals while the driver of a 2003 Ford F-350 remained unharmed.  FOX 35 Orlando
  • After a severe thunderstorm with hail, lightning — and strong winds hit southeast Palm Bay, a large oak tree on Grandeur Street SE split into major pieces with one limb resting on a roof and another blocking the road, and while officials cleared the road hazard, the homeowner must remove the limb on the roof and driveway; no one was hurt.  Hometown News

  • SpaceX is set to launch a Falcon 9 rocket carrying Starlink satellites from Cape Canaveral on Wednesday, May 28 at 9:30 a.m. ET—weather permitting, the launch will be visible from many Space Coast locations.  Florida Today

  • On May 26th, the Memorial Day Ceremony was held at the Veterans Memorial Center in Merritt Island where guest speakers honored local veterans by reading the names of those who lost their lives in war and playing Taps.  Florida Today

  • On the third Wednesday of May, trauma survivors gathered at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne to thank doctors, nurses, and air ambulance teams for saving their lives. Survivors recalled serious accidents, including a Palm Bay car crash where one victim was unresponsive for 11 hours with 31 broken bones — their stories showed the impact of quick, life-saving care.  Hometown News
