  • A report found that Brevard County had 415 tons of litter in 2025 as tire debris rose and tiny litter made up 85% around coastal and highway areas.  Florida Today
  • Hurricane season officially starts on June 1 and while forecasts predict a below-normal year, experts caution residents to prepare in case tropical waves bring unexpected weather changes. No tropical storms are expected for the next week but officials advise staying alert.  Florida Today
  • Local Keep Brevard Beautiful volunteers report that despite a national study showing a 34% drop in litter since 2020, scattered waste and cigarette butts remain common in Brevard (especially near Port Canaveral and downtown Melbourne) as recent cleanups highlighted the issue.  Florida Today
