- ➤ A 19-year-old college football player visiting home for Mother's Day was shot to death early May 11 near the Neon Rodeo bar in downtown Melbourne—police said a 24-year-old Palm Bay man was charged with manslaughter and claims self-defense after a verbal altercation. Florida Today
- ➤ Melbourne police asked for help from the public in identifying two suspects involved in a January robbery on Sarno Road—one, a 6 ft tall Black man known as Tony wearing a white baseball cap and light clothing, and the other, a 5 ft 7 in Black man wearing a maroon hooded sweatshirt and black beanie, who attacked a local business victim and stole jewelry, electronics and cash.
