EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Brevard Public Schools announced its 2025–2026 Rookie and Emerging Teachers of the Year, honoring first- and second-year educators making a difference in classrooms throughout the district. The program recognizes outstanding teachers at all levels and encourages community support for their efforts. Space Coast Daily
- ➤ Brevard Public Schools will open official registration at 6 p.m. on May 5 for free Summer Enrichment Programs (available to K–11 students) across select schools, with sessions scheduled for four weeks in June and registration running through May 19 on a first-come, first-served basis. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Legendary knuckleballer Tim Wakefield was honored in May 2012 at the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame induction at Eastern Florida State College, where he thanked local coaches and family for their support. He spent 19 MLB seasons and remains a hometown sports hero. Space Coast Daily
