- ➤ A fast-moving brush fire dubbed Digital Fire burned 10 acres and forced the closure of John Rodes Boulevard near Enterprise Court in Melbourne yesterday—fire crews from the Melbourne Fire Department and Brevard County Fire Rescue worked to contain the blaze while officials urged drivers to take alternate routes and no injuries or damage were reported. - ➤ At the Moore Justice Center in Viera on Wednesday morning the state did not move to vacate Jeff Abramowski's 2006 murder conviction in Cortney Crandall's death at his Palm Shores mobile home—his attorney said he is frustrated by the delay as a follow-up hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. today. - ➤ A Viera High teacher, Samuel Jacon-Landon Davison, 33, was arrested on Sunday for battery by strangulation after he allegedly choked a woman during a domestic dispute at the Artisan at Viera apartment complex and was released on $5,000 bond while he remains on administrative leave by Brevard Public Schools, marking his second domestic violence arrest since October 2023.
