  • Florida gas prices dropped slightly yesterday from $3.951 to $3.950 a gallon (state data), keeping the average near $4 even though rates remain above the national rate. The minor decline is not expected to signal a lasting drop.  Florida Today

  • The Brevard Schools Foundation is hosting its 30th Annual Golf Invitational at Manatee Cove Golf Course on Friday, April 3 with driving range access at 6:30 a.m. and an 8 a.m. shotgun start; community and business leaders will gather to support local education.  Space Coast Daily

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Palm Bay residents filing taxes electronically may receive a direct deposit refund in 21 days. Those without banking info can expect paper checks in six to eight weeks (IRS online tool tracks refund status) and the filing deadline is April 15.  Florida Today
  • The City of Palm Bay Utilities Department is temporarily changing its drinking water process for routine maintenance that began on March 16 and will continue until Apr. 13.  Hometown News
  • Brevard County leaders have designated March 21 as Space Coast Day to honor the region’s historic role in space exploration and innovation. The official proclamation event is set for Jan. 13 (5 p.m.) at the Commission office.  Space Coast Daily

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Brevard County home listings had a median price of $379,450 in February, up from $374,468 the previous month with homes listed for 72 days according to Realtor.com data. Nearby Sebastian-Vero Beach listings dropped slightly to $437,000.  Florida Today
