BUSINESS NEWS

  • Nationwide, Applebee's has begun closing underperforming locations for growth, but none of its three Brevard restaurants (at 3001 W. Eau Gallie Blvd., 1545 Palm Bay Road NE, and 100 N. Sykes Creek Parkway) are scheduled to close. The company said closures are a normal update even as it plans to open more locations this year.  Florida Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Due to a partial government shutdown, TSA staff shortages are causing longer security wait times at airports during spring break; however, Florida hubs have waited less than 45 minutes as of Tuesday morning. Travelers should check TSA wait times using airport websites (or the MyTSA app) before heading out.  Florida Today

SPORTS NEWS

  • Brevard County high school sports this week show Edgewood boys tennis (12-0) swept West Shore and Cocoa Beach boys and West Shore girls each won key tennis matches, while Cocoa Beach baseball beat Cocoa 8-0. Results from games played between March 16 and 21 highlight team performances.  Florida Today
