- ➤ The 65-member Community Band of Brevard will swing into spring on Sunday, March 15 at 3 p.m. at Merritt Island High School Auditorium (100 Mustang Way). The free concert will feature jazz and big band medleys from artists such as Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington. Space Coast Daily
FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ Yesterday, the Florida Lotto jackpot was set at $6 million during the Wednesday drawing at 11:15 p.m. ET following several rollover increases; officials will release the winning numbers later (tickets are sold statewide). The next drawing is scheduled for Saturday, March 7. Florida Today
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Florida will begin Daylight Saving Time on March 8 at 2 a.m. (clocks will move forward one hour) which will give residents longer evenings; clocks will be set back on November 1 at 2 a.m. to bring brighter mornings. Florida Today
- ➤ NASA fixed a helium flow seal issue on the Artemis II rocket at Kennedy Space Center after a wet dress rehearsal delay. The agency plans to launch the crewed moon mission on April 1 + update its Artemis program with an added test flight. FOX 35 Orlando
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Residents planning to visit beaches this spring break are advised to check water quality reports from the Florida Department of Health and the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Red tide, blue-green algae, and enteric bacteria can affect swimmers if precautions are not taken. Florida Today
