  • SpaceX will launch its Falcon 9 carrying a batch of Starlink satellites Tuesday from Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 40. The launch window opens at 5:12 p.m. and extends until 9:12 p.m. to allow adjustments + residents south of the Cape will hear no sonic booms.  Florida Today

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Saturday, Sun Harbor Nursery on Eau Gallie Boulevard advised residents to protect their plants from the expected severe freeze (the worst in 15 years) by covering them with frost cloth or alternatives.  Hometown News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Florida law prohibits texting while driving, with first offenses fined at a minimum of $30 and increased penalties proposed for school and work zones; the rule allows hands-free calls and exempts emergency responders and autonomous vehicle users.  Florida Today
  • NASA will run a wet dress rehearsal tonight at Kennedy Space Center for Artemis II, which sends four astronauts on a 10-day lunar journey. The test will fuel the rocket with over 700,000 gallons of liquid oxygen + hydrogen and simulate a countdown until 1 a.m. Tuesday.  FOX 35 Orlando
