  • WeVENTURE Women’s Business Center, based at Florida Tech, has been named a Neighborhood Builder by Bank of America today as it receives a $50,000 two-year grant to support free business coaching and mentorship for local entrepreneurs + the funding will help cover staffing and travel expenses for leadership training.  Florida Today

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Goodwill posted record sales in 2025 with over $7 billion in revenue as shoppers turned to thrift stores to save money. Thrift stores across Florida, including Palm Bay outlets, offer weekly discounts & loyalty programs to help residents stretch their dollars.  Florida Today

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team finished fourth at the Titan Winter Invitational at Suntree Country Club Tuesday morning (cold, windy conditions affected play). The team will compete in the Bantams Invitational on Feb. 23-24.  Space Coast Daily
  • Brevard Public Schools will cut 7% of staff positions districtwide for the next school year due to declining enrollment, according to Superintendent Mark Rendell's Jan. 28 letter. The district will first eliminate nonschool roles and trim classroom positions only if student numbers fail to meet class size requirements.  Florida Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Kennedy Space Center teams will conduct a wet dress rehearsal on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 9 p.m. EST to fuel over 700000 gallons of cryogenic propellant into the SLS rocket and simulate a launch for Artemis II test flight preparations while engineers adjust systems for cold weather.  Space Coast Daily
  • Business and community leaders met at the Brevard Day Prep and Preview Meeting to hear legislative insights from PK Kapur and set Space Coast priorities for Tallahassee.   • The launch of a United Launch Alliance Vulcan rocket carrying the U.S. Space Force USSF-87 mission has been delayed until no earlier than Thursday, Feb. 12 — pending range approval at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.  Space Coast Daily
