ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Brevard County is in a prolonged cold event expected to last up to two weeks, with temperatures dropping to 29°F and wind chills near 25°F. Officials advise residents to bundle up, protect plants and pets, and check heating systems, while shelters (in Titusville, Cocoa, and Melbourne) will open this evening.  Florida Today

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials in Palm Bay will hold a ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 5:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers (Palm Bay City Hall) to recognize firefighters for heroic life-saving actions and exceptional service, including awards for Kolter Klasek, Brian Miller and Valerie Baptiste, with a cake reception to follow.  Space Coast Daily
